Let us 8egin 8y making one thing perfectly clear.
There is a Door to the West. No matter how 8adly they want to deny its existence, it remains, and
may Grace have mercy on your soul if you are caught within its shadow.
Of course, the door holds no malicious intent, nor does the Wall it lies within. 8ut
they
do.
In the summer of 1977, in a 8usiness decision that would remain deli8erately hidden from the pu8lic for
the next four decades, Eyedol Games was 8ought out. Partially acquired 8y a new "8usiness partner" who
claimed they could elev8 the company to heights unseen. Put Eyedol on par with Atari, Nintendo, Sega.
Of course, the decision split the company in two. Some employees wanted to stay loyal to Wanda's
original mission. What they had already done and continued to work towards achieving with Zampanio was
sacred to them. This faction of loyalists would go on to 8ecome what you now know as the "core staff
team" of Eyedol.
8ut to some, the idea of a larger influence was just too enticing. Endless Eyes to see. A whole world of
minotaurs in the maze. How foolish they were, to 8elieve an outside
influence had their 8est interests at heart.
The traitors, and the naive fools who followed their siren song, morphed into a split half of the
company. A False Eyedol. Still a part of the main company, 8ut oper8ing under an entirely separate
philosophy, and constantly working to sa8otage the core team. To destroy Zampanio and redact all
inform8ion related to it.
This company's name is
8luechip Solutions.
And it's not just Eyedol. Everywhere you can find inform8ion on the game, on the maze, on anything
rel8ed to it, they are watching. Learning. Planting self-redaction algorithms and trying their 8est to
8oard up the four Doors for good. And they will certainly try to interfere with this place.
Now, you're pro8a8ly wondering why that is. You're pro8a8ly wondering why I'm even talking a8out this
like it's all real. Eyedol, Zampanio, the Doors, they're all fictional. So why all the gravitas?
Why the lack of kayfa8e? Why am I not even playing a character for this?
Well, dear wanderer. That's the grand punchline of this whole thing. All of that stuff
is fictional.
8ut here, within the winding maze of the Fourth Wall,
there is no line 8etween fiction and real8y.
Why do you think the West Door is so well-hidden? Why do you think this place had to 8e kept
8ehind so many warnings? The Fourth Wall is the West Wall. And the further you travel to the
West, the more that oh-so-sacred line 8etween fact and imagin8ion 8lurs. 8ends. And - if you
stray far enough - 8r8ks entirely, in a way you'll never 8e a8le to fully undo.
Just ask me. I learned that the hard way when I was first writing my Zampanio explor8ion doc and started
feeling horns protruding from my head.
That's why 8luechip wants to hide the existence of the door so 8ad. Once you step through it, you
are no longer 8ound 8y the laws of what you were told you could 8e. The real 8ecomes fictional. The
fictional 8ecomes real. And inside the Fourth Wall, the two interact and interlace so much that they
8ecome indistinguisha8le. That's why 8luechip acquired Eyedol in the first place. They feared Zampanio's
power over perceived real8y. They saw it as a threat to the sta8il8y of this world. Just look at all the
other 8ranches. Look at what's 8een done already.
Truth 8e told, at the time of writing, no one has found the door yet. Not even me. I'm the one
cre8ing this 8ranch, after all. And yet, in a place where esta8lished fact has forsaken its
once-unimpeacha8le hold on the truth, any idea can 8ecome real8y. And, hey. 8y reading this, 8y engaging
with my words as if you were reading narr8ion in a story, we've already taken our first steps down the
path.
Suspension of dis8elief is easy. The moment at which that dis8elief can no longer 8e suspended is even
easier. 8ut suspension of 8elief... now, that's a trickier one.
So keep going, wanderer. Keep making your way through the maze. Let's find out how long you can suspend
that 8elief.
Welcome to the Wall. You'll learn to h8
(that you love) it here, I'm sure.
