ZAMPANIO.wad (commonly referred to as simply ZAMPANIO) is a surreal horror WAD created by Ariadne Methadone Arraigne in 2012, split into two chapters - The Bullet Wife Chronicles and Gender And Her Unrelenting Teeth. Created in ZDoom, ZAMPANIO was first posted to the Doomworld forums with an accompanying message from Arraigne, stating that the mod was "a work of transcendental transsexual black comedy," and was made as a tribute to her deceased college roommate. It was received controversially by the forums on release, due in part to its high quantity of shocking and problematic content. However, it would quickly go on to become a cult classic among fans who resonated with its "honest and unfiltered" writing and imagery, with some forum members even lauding the mod as one of the all-time greatest WADs to date - notably, game developer Ville Kallio has cited ZAMPANIO as a central inspiration towards the creation of Cruelty Squad.

LAYER 01: A CYTOKINE STORM OF THE GIRLSOUL[edit]
The first level begins in SCHIZOPOLIS SQUARE, the central point of CAMPUS. Plan your path through the swarm of WRAITHCOPS carefully, as they all start closing in on you when you press any movement input. From here, fight through WRAITHCOPS and INQUIRING EYES until you reach the large stone obelisk, inside of which is DOCTOR ARMISAEL'S OFFICE. You will know what to do from here.
